Laura C. J. Pereira

Laura C. J. Pereira holds a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry and is a principal researcher in the Department of Engineering and Nuclear Sciences (DECN) at IST, Loures Campus. She specializes in solid-state chemistry and chemical physics, with research centred on the relationship between material structure and magnetic properties. Her work focuses on smart nanostructures and multifunctional molecular materials exhibiting unconventional magnetic phenomena, and intermetallic compounds containing 3d and f-block elements. She leads the Magnetic Characterisation Facility at the Low Temperature and High Magnetic Fields Laboratory (LTHMFL). Her academic output includes over 180 peer-reviewed publications and four book chapters, with more than 3,000 citations and an h-index of 30.
