Aparna is a PhD student at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) working on the valorization of battery waste through the co-electrolysis of water and CO2. She earned her Master's degree in Applied Chemistry from the University of Calicut in 2022, completing a thesis focused on advanced materials for lithium-ion batteries, followed by research on aluminium-ion battery systems.
With an academic foundation rooted in applied chemistry and extensive participation in national and international scientific forums, her research centers on electrochemistry, particularly on energy storage and green hydrogen production. Driven by a commitment to sustainability, her work aims to advance next-generation clean energy technologies by intersecting waste valorization with electrochemical conversion.
